June 2 – Rainbow Storytime – Join us for a special storytime celebrating self-expression, identity, and the LGBTQIA+ community.  Featuring books, songs, and a special rainbow themed craft. Registration is required. All ages. 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

June 2 – Mat Yoga – This is the class for you if you’ve never done yoga, if you want to get back to yoga, or if you want to explore familiar postures in a different way. Participate virtually through Zoom with Susan Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga in Riverside. Registration is required. We will email you the Zoom information the day before the program date. 3:00-4:00 PM

June 2 – Let’s Paint! – Grab your paint brushes and join Ms. Mariela for an evening of creative, colorful, paint-smeared fun! For artists of all levels. Registration is required. Grades K-8. 5:00-6:30 PM

June 3 – Tinker Tots – Get your wiggles out with a toddler playtime! Different toys and games each week. Registration is required. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

June 3 – Sci-Fi and Fantasy Book Club – Join us as we read and discuss a different science fiction or fantasy novel each month. This month, we are reading Goddess of the River by Vaishnavi Patel. 5:00-6:00 PM

June 3 – Full Glam Make-up Tutorial with Candi Forest – This hands-on workshop covers the history and impact of drag makeup while teaching essential techniques like skin prep, brow blocking, and contouring to create exaggerated proportions and full glam beauty! Guided by drag persona Candi Forest, you’ll learn the skills to transform your look and unleash your inner diva. Registration is required. Ages 12 & up. 6:00-7:30 PM

June 4 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting and sewing projects and techniques. We embrace all skills and levels. 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

June 4 – Teen Cuisine – Cook your own delicious meals and treats with us! Learn basic cooking skills and a delicious new recipe every meetup. This month, we’re making Mini Marble Rainbow Cake. All cooking skills are welcome. Registration is required. Grades 6-12. 4:30-5:30 PM

June 5 – The Magical World of Balloons with Smarty Pants – Smarty Pants returns to Franklin Park Library with an epic and magical twist on his balloon show. Registration is required. All ages. 4:00-5:00 PM

June 6 – Scales-N-Tales Storytime – Start your Friday morning off at the library with a fun storytime all about animals. A new animal will be featured each week. Registration is required. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:00-11:30 AM

June 6 – Game On – Take your gaming to the next level. Join our video game program to play new and classic games. Participate in friendly competitions and win prizes. Grades 6-12. 5:00-6:30 PM

June 9 – Storypalooza – Start your week off at the Library as we enjoy stories, songs, and rhymes together! Registration is required. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:00-11:30 AM

June 9 – Chair Yoga – Chair Yoga classes are wonderful movement opportunities for any adult with limited mobility who wants to increase and maintain flexibility. Participate virtually with Susan Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga in Riverside through Zoom or by phone. Registration is required. We will email you the Zoom & phone information the day before the program date. 3:00-4:00 PM

June 9 – Bon Appetit – Try your hand at cooking! Come to the library and see the tastes we have in store for your future chefs. Registration is required. Grades K-6. 5:00-6:00 PM

June 10 – Rockin’ Tots – Dance, sing, and get rowdy during our music and movement toddler program! Registration is required. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:00-11:30 AM

June 10 – Sensory Playtime – After getting rowdy at Rockin’ Tots, stick around for an open sensory playtime! We will have different tactile and sensory experiences for young kids to learn and engage with together. Registration is required. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM

June 11 – African Folktales – From the desert lands of the Sahara to the plains of the Serengeti to Mount Kilimanjaro and beyond – join a variety of characters from a wide range of cultures in stories that celebrate the various folk tale traditions of the continent of Africa. African music helps to set the stage for these energetic stories. Our stories include Anansi, porquoi tales and many facts and figures about this incredible continent. Registration is required. Ages 5 & up. 4:00-5:00 PM

June 12 – Polish Storytime – Join The Language Labs’ presenter, Ada, as she teaches, sings songs, plays games, and offers crafts in Polish! Registration is required. Ages 2-8 with caregiver. 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

June 12 – The Write Stuff – This writers’ workshop is a place where you can bring works in progress, push through writer’s block, or get started on something entirely new. Open to beginner and experienced writers alike, all are welcome to join. Each session will start with a prompt or activity, followed by time for free writing and sharing your work with others. 5:30-6:30 PM

June 13 – Scales-N-Tales Storytime – Start your Friday morning off at the library with a fun storytime all about animals. A new animal will be featured each week. Registration is required. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:00-11:30 AM

June 13 – Family Gaming Night – Spend time as a family playing games together. We will have games available for all ages and ability levels throughout the library for you to try! Registration is required. All ages. 4:00-6:00 PM

June 14 – Friends of the Library Book Sale – Looking for great deals on new or gently used books, CDs, and DVDs? Join the Friends in the Library by the in-house book sale for a special, expanded book sale. You can also buy a reusable Friends tote bag full of materials for $5! 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

June 14 – Knit & Crochet Group – Relax and work on a project or receive basic instruction from experienced crafters. New members are welcome, and basic supplies and tools are provided. 1:00-3:00 PM

June 17 – Flirty Fiction Romance Book Club – Are you a defender of the HEA? Join Flirty Fiction Book Club where we’ll read a different romance book each month, talk about our favorite tropes, and find some new ones! This month, we’re discussing Can’t Let Her Go by Kianna Alexander. 5:30-7:30 PM

June 18 – Bingo Hosted by Coco Sho-Nell – Grab some friends and join us for a fun and fabulous bingo night! Get ready to be entertained by the amazing local drag queen Coco Sho-Nell. Registration is required. Ages 16 & up. 5:30-7:30 PM

June 18 – Popular Page Turners Book Club – Join us monthly for an evening of engaging conversation about popular books. This month, we are discussing Dial A for Aunties by Jesse Q. Sutanto. Copies of the book can be checked out at the Circulation Desk a month before the meeting date. Registration is required. 7:00-8:00 PM

June 20 – Graphic Novel Book Club – Do you like reading comics, graphic novels, and manga? Join our Graphic Novel Book Club as we read different books, play games, and do activities based on them. Then, help us vote on which book we read next time. Registration is required. Grades 3-8. 4:30-5:30 PM

June 21 – Skills Toolkit 1-on-1’s – Want to build your resume, learn about interview tips, get help on your job search, get essay support, homework help, and more? Book a FREE one-on-one session with our professional, Zuri, to get the help you need, wherever you are on your career journey. 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

June 21 – Village Passport Processing Event – Join representatives from the Village of Franklin Park’s Clerk’s Office at the Library for passport service hours. June 23 – Cooking with Jen Paleracio – Culinary educator and instructor Jen Paleracio is back! This time, she’ll show us how to make delicious Vegetable Asian Dumplings with Savory Dipping Sauce. Teens & Adults. Limit 30. Registration is required. 6:30-7:30 PM

June 25 – Arrayscape Gaming: Roblox Tycoon – Think like a gamer with the help of Arrayscape Gaming instructors. In Roblox’s Tycoon, we will compete to see who can build up their base the fastest and come out on top! Registration is required. Grades 3-8. 4:00-5:30 PM

June 25 – Dungeons & Dragons Single-Session – A long-running campaign of Dungeons & Dragons is a lot of fun, but sometimes we only have time or energy for a single session. Join us for two hours of gameplay, during which we will complete a short story with your characters! Feel free to bring your own character sheet and dice, but dice and pre-made characters will be available. If bringing your own character, please make them at a level 3. Adults only. Limit 10. 5:00-7:00 PM

June 26 – Tech Thursday: Android Basics – Learn how to take full advantage of your Android phone or tablet, with tips and tricks that will turn you into an expert! 3:00-5:30 PM

June 27 – Scales-N-Tales Storytime – Start your Friday morning off at the library with a fun storytime all about animals. A new animal will be featured each week. Registration is required. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:00-11:30 AM

June 27 – Teen Taste Test – Do you love snacks? Do you want to try snacks from different countries or snacks you’ve never heard of? We’ll taste the snacks, talk about them, and rank them from liked to didn’t like. Registration is required. Grades 6-12. 4:30-5:30 PM

June 28 – Knit & Crochet Group – Relax and work on a project or receive basic instruction from experienced crafters. New members are welcome, and basic supplies and tools are provided. 1:00-3:00 PM

June 28 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Library support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring events, and funding programs. New members are always welcome! 10:30-11:30 AM

June 30 – Cook the Book Club – If you’ve ever wished that book clubs focused less on the book and more on the food, this is the club for you! Every month, each member will pick a recipe from a previously selected book to prepare and bring into the book club. This month’s book is Salad Freak by Jess Damuck. The resulting potluck is the perfect opportunity to discuss the cookbook with others and try fun foods! Registration is required. 5:00-6:30 PM
