LIBRARY CLOSING:

January 5 – Beaded Friendship Bracelets and Charms – Come get crafty making beaded friendship bracelets or charms. There are beads of different shapes, colors, and sizes! Make one for yourself or for a friend. Teens & Adults. 5:00-6:00 PM
January 6 – Sensory Playtime – Join us for sensory playtime! We will have different tactile and sensory experiences for young kids to learn and engage with together. Each week we will have different stations focused on the different senses. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
January 7 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting and sewing projects and techniques. We embrace all skills and levels. 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

January 7 – Miniature Bookcase Craft with Miniature Artist: Catherine Suchy – Want to add a touch of coziness and literary magic to your space? Create your own tiny bookcase complete with tiny books and personalized decor. Perfect for book lovers and DIY enthusiasts! Adults only. Limit 20. Registration is required. 6:00-8:00 PM
January 7 – Getting Started with Microsoft Office – Learn the basics of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint. 7:00-8:00 PM
January 8 – Polish Storytime – Join The Language Labs’ presenter, Bernadetta, as she teaches, sings songs, plays games, and offers crafts in Polish! Registration is required. Ages 2-8 with caregiver. 11:00-11:30 AM
January 8 – LEGO Librarians – Come and join the snap together squad as we build LEGO sets to decorate the library. From Star Wars, to Zelda, to dinosaur fossils, we’re excited to build all the crazy big LEGO sets that you’ve always dreamed of building. Ages 11 and up. 4:00-5:00 PM
January 9 – Game On – Take your gaming to the next level! Join our video game program to play new and classic games, participate in friendly competitions, and win prizes. Grades 6-12. 5:00-6:30 PM
January 9 – Resource Round-Up: Libby – You know the library has more than books and programs, but how do you access them? Join us each month for Resource Round-Up, where you can learn about a different library resource and how to use it. For January, we will learn about Libby. You do not need to bring your own device, but it may come in handy if you want to follow along. 5:30-6:30 PM
January 10 – Knit & Crochet Club – Relax and work on a project or receive basic instruction from experienced crafters. New members are welcome, and basic supplies and tools are provided. 1:00-3:00 PM

January 12 – History Buffs Book Club – Join us to discuss a different book about history each month. Book selections may include histories, biographies, memoirs, and autobiographies. January 17 – Toy Swap – Is your home cluttered with old toys, especially around the holidays? Donate unwanted toys to the Kids Crossing help desk from December 15 – January 16 and also have the opportunity to pick up more donated toys from the community on January 17. 12:00-2:00 PM
January 19 – Hot Cocoa with Elsa – Brrrr…it’s cold outside! Warm up with a cup of hot cocoa and stories with Elsa. You’ll even get a chance to have your picture keepsake taken with The Snow Queen! Ages 0-10. 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
January 19 – Snowology – Have you always wanted to learn more about the mysterious frozen water that falls from the sky all winter? We will talk about some of the science of how each snowflake is different and do fun crafts! Grades K-5. 5:00-6:00 PM

January 20 – Get to Know Your Air Fryer – In this culinary demonstration, cookbook author and recipe developer Emily Paster will demystify the air fryer, the trendy new appliance that is revolutionizing how we cook. Emily will explain how the air fryer works, why it can do much more than just “fry” foods and how it can help you in the kitchen. Emily will prepare two recipes from her best-selling cookbook Epic Air Fryer for you to try. This program will be informative for those who already own and love their air fryer as well as for those who are curious whether an air fryer is right for them. Limit 30. January 26 – Cook the Book Club – If you’ve ever wished that book clubs focused less on the book and more on the food, this is the club for you! Every month, each member will pick a recipe from a previously selected book to prepare and bring into the book club. This month’s book is Maangchi’s Big Book of Korean Cooking. The resulting potluck is the perfect opportunity to discuss the cookbook with others and try fun foods! Registration is required. 5:30-7:00 PM

January 28 – Mystery Dates: Detectives in the Golden Age of Radio – Everyone loves a good whodunit… and some detectives are as famous as the stories they tell. Join Steve Darnall as he examines the history and development of detective fiction by presenting samples from some of the many famous fictional detectives who made their way to radio, including Sherlock Holmes, Sam Spade, Nick Carter and many others. (This program also answers the question: What was radio’s longest-running detective series? The answer will surprise you!) 7:00-8:30 PM
