September 15-October 15 – Hispanic Heritage Month Craft Kits – Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by picking up a Grab-N-Go kit at the Kids Crossing desk! During this month, we will be making papel picado, maracas, mini-piñatas, and tissue paper flowers. Visit us on our YouTube channel to listen to a bilingual Storytime told by Miss Joann and Miss Laura. 

October 2 – Storytime & Craft @ Home – Join us live via Zoom for stories, songs, rhymes, and a craft each week. The craft can be picked up at the Kids Crossing desk each week prior to the program. Register online at fppld.org/kids/programs and we will email you a Zoom link. Birth–K w/ caregiver. 10:00-10:30 am

October 6 – Tuesdays’ Mini-Meditation – Join us weekly for 30 minutes of guided meditation via conference call. Registration is required. 2:30-3:00 pm

October 6 – Tai Chi – Participate virtually through Zoom with Tom Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga in Riverside. Registration is required. We will send you a Zoom invitation by email before the program date. 6:00-7:00 pm

October 9 – Storytime & Craft @ Home – Join us live via Zoom for stories, songs, rhymes, and a craft each week. The craft can be picked up at the Kids Crossing desk each week prior to the program. October 9 – Tabletop Gaming Club – We’re back board game fans: virtually! Sign up now to play board games with us online. We’ll use various methods to play different board games together. Details will be on our web page at fppld.org/teens/programs. For teens & adults. 6:30-7:30 pm

October 12-October 16 – Crafty Scarecrow Take-Home Kit – Create your own mini-scarecrow to deck your fall halls with! Adults only. Limit 15. Registration is required. 

October 12 – Chair Yoga – Participate virtually with Susan Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga in Riverside through Zoom or by phone. Registration is required. We will email you the Zoom & phone information before the program date. 3:00-4:00 pm

October 12 – Columbus Day – DC Virtual Trivia Program – Excited to see Wonder Woman this fall? Looking for something to do with your friends on Columbus Day? Join us live on Zoom to test your knowledge on all things DC. The winner will receive a prize! Register online at fppld.org/kids/programs and we will send you a Zoom link. Grades 3-5. 4:00-5:00 pm

October 23 (begins) – Haunted Library! Online Escape Room – Participate in our very first online Escape Room from home! Solve puzzles, find clues, and help us reach the truth behind the spooky events going on at our Library. More details can be found on our website at fppld.org/teens/programs

October 24 – Fright Night! (FPPLD Gamers) – We’re playing spooky games tonight, gamers! Join our Discord through our website at fppld.org/teens/programs to coordinate with us and other game enthusiasts. See you there…if you dare! Grades 7-12. 6:30-7:30 pm

October 26-October 30 – Pumpkin Patch – Visit the Kids Crossing Pumpkin Patch during the week of Halloween and pick out a pumpkin and a decorating kit. Submit a photo of your creation online to enter a raffle for a local sweet treat! Open to all ages, while supplies last.

October 26-October 30 – Graveyard Terrarium Take-Home Kit – Create your own spooky graveyard with our take-home kit. All the supplies you’ll need are included. Limit 20. Registration is required. Grades 6-12.

October 28 – Haunted Book Club – Join us via Zoom in a discussion of White is for Witching by Helen Oyeyemi. If you like horror stories with creepy twins or haunted houses, you are in luck, as this book has both! Copies will be available for checkout at the Circulation Desk at the end of September. 7:00-8:00 pm

October 30 – Halloween Party – Join us on Zoom for a night of Spooky BINGO and scary stories. Stop by the Kids Crossing desk from Monday through Friday wearing your Halloween costume to pick up a bag of candy. Winners of Spooky BINGO will receive a prize. Grades K-5. 4:00-5:00 pm
