Raise a Glass at “The Last Word”

“The Last Word” at iO Theater is the brainchild creation of writer Declan Grogan. A hilarious interactive stage reading “blended with craft cocktails”, themed around “Chartreuse”, a French Alpine liqueur. The actors are given the script at the table reading, not knowing which character(s) they play…

The story begins with Mike trying to find his calling, his passion in life, so he journeys to France. Along the way in his travels he finds a dying monk in the woods, who gives him the only copy of the secret recipe for the “miraculous” Chartreuse, charging him to take it to the Grande Chartreuse Monastery. Thus begins his quest in four adventurous acts, each segment accompanied by a related cocktail with a significant ingredient:

Gin – light, refreshing

Lime – citrus sweet with a hint of spice

Maraschino cherry – sweet and strong with a bitter finish

(And, of course) Chartreuse – unlike anything you’ve ever had before…

There is only one rule at “The Last Word”: no one knows what will happen tonight. But it’s “…the ONLY craft cocktail progression paired with a screenplay” – this entertaining, cozy setting is perfect for a date or a group of friends, experiencing it together. The remaining performances are the last Fridays of the summer months – July 31st and August 28th – so don’t wait; get your tickets at www.thelastwordshow.com.
