Academy Award Nominated Ladies At Their Best
By Wes Hessel with Flo Mano
At Chopin Theater, Alex Grelle brings another invigorating installment of The Grelley Duvall Show, the world premiere of “Grelley Duvall Best Actress”, a collection of the best outstanding moments in the lights by ladies’ nominated for Oscar gold. With the help of Jesse Morgan Young, Alex delivers the highlights one wants to see again or that we missed.
Duvall’s dynamite – the transformation of this talented entertainer has everyone on the edge of their seats in awe, witnessing the reenacting of scenes with singing and dancing. From perennial Meryl Streep to Annie Lennox, Kim Novak in a CBS Sunday Morning interview, and Nicole Kidman in “The Hours”, the hits keep coming. My favorite is the Sharon Stone Basic Instinct scene, and Grelley does Shelley (Duvall, that is) in Popeye.
This remarkable revue is directed by Kasey Foster, with amazing choreography by Erin Kilmurray and Kasey Alfonso. Musical director Aunt Kelly rocks it through the roof, accompanied by bandleader Kelly Hannemann’s raspy voice, bassist Dan Gianaris, and Sarah Weddle on drums – music to your ears, literally. Two hours of outstanding entertainment not to be missed, so make your run to the red carpet at www.chopintheatre.com for tickets or more information, before the lights fade to black the last time April 12th.
