Mr. Dickens “Begrudgingly” Tells It All Over Again…

The Den Theatre presents the holiday classic ghost story told by the man most capable – the author. “Charles Dickens Begrudgingly Performs ‘A Christmas Carol’ Again” brings us the wonderful Blake Montgomery as the great writer back for a 171st straight year of sharing his masterpiece with Yuletide audiences. (And you thought Christie’s “Mousetrap” in London was the world’s longest run since February 1952…)

Beginning 15 minutes before showtime during the general admission seating, Mr. Dickens himself holds court, greeting, interacting, and bantering with theatregoers.  Mr. Montgomery makes it fun, silly, and not really any particular attempt to be very historical – definitely entertaining references for fans of Dickens the novelist.

He segues into a casual, intimate show with a medium but unburdensome amount of audience participation. In the end, this one-man show really is just Charles Dickens performing his most famous work. As always, The Den Theatre is bustling and beautifully decked out for the season – there is even a bar space open for holiday cheer. How often are you going to be able to see a legend perform his most known piece? So get there before the ghosts fade to black on the night of December 22nd – for tickets or more information, kindly direct your attention to www.thedentheatre.com
