July 1 – Lil’ Dinos Storytime – Start your Friday morning off with a fun storytime full of stories and songs! Some bilingual Spanish may be included. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 10:30-11:00 AM
July 1 – Game ON! – Join our video game program to play new and classic games. We’ll host different friendly tournaments like Super Smash Bros. and more. We’ll have snacks and refreshments. Grades 9-12. 1:30-3:30 PM
July 4 – Library Closing – The Library will be closed on Monday, July 4 for Independence Day. We will reopen at 10 AM on Tuesday, July 5.
July 5 – Family Paint-n-Sip – Bring the whole crew for a night of painting and socializing and leave with your very own masterpiece! 4:00-5:30 PM
July 5 – Tai Chi – Participate virtually through Zoom with Tom Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga in Riverside. Registration is required. We will email you a Zoom invitation the day before the program date. 6:00-7:00 PM
July 6 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting & sewing, and showing completed projects. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
July 8 – Lil’ Dinos Storytime – Start your Friday morning off with a fun storytime full of stories and songs! Some bilingual Spanish may be included. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 10:30-11:00 AM
July 9 – Knit & Crochet Group – New members are always welcome! Join fellow crafters from every skill level. Learn tips and tricks and share projects you’re creating. 1:00-3:00 PM
July 11 – Chair Yoga – Participate virtually with Susan Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga in Riverside through Zoom or by phone. Registration is required. We will email you the Zoom & phone information the day before the program date. 3:00-4:00 PM
July 11 – Knights of the Square Table Chess Club – Join us for some lighthearted chess competition and instruction, if needed. Guaranteed to not be a stale(mate) evening! Grades 1 & up. 5:00-6:30 PM
July 12 – Family Flicks – Join us for a family-friendly movie that shares our Summer Reading theme. This month’s movie is Moana (Rated PG). 2:00-4:00 PM
July 13 – Make Mine a Mocktail: Summer Edition – Enjoy some delicious adult beverages without the drawbacks of alcohol! We will demonstrate how to make 3 tasty seasonal mocktails, then send you home with samples and recipes. For adults. Limit 25. Registration is required. 6:30-7:30 PM
July 14 – Game ON! – Join our video game program to play new and classic games. We’ll host different friendly tournaments like Super Smash Bros. and more. We’ll have snacks and refreshments. Grades 6-12. 12:00-2:00 PM
July 14 – Book Buddies – Pair up with an older child and take turns reading to each other. Log your reading minutes for the Summer Reading Challenge and follow up with book discussion, drawing, a snack, and games! Grades Preschool-8. 3:00-4:00 PM

July 15 – Friday Flicks – Join us each month to watch a newly released movie! This month’s movie is Death on the Nile (PG-13), starring Kenneth Branagh, Gal Gadot, and Annette Bening. 1:00-3:10 PM
July 18 – Snacks Around the World – Get ready to indulge in tasty treats. Try out new snacks from around the world. Eat popular treats and add new delicious favorite foods to your shopping list. Grades 6-12. 1:15-2:30 PM
July 18 – Mighty Monarchs Book Club – Stop by the library for some fun activities and discussions on the Monarch Book Award Nominees. The Monarch is an Illinois book award with the winner chosen by kids just like YOU. Grades K-2. 4:00-5:00 PM
July 19 – DIY Summer Spa Products – Celebrate summer by making some spa products from simple ingredients. You’ll learn how to make 3 spa-inspired products that you can take home and use to pamper yourself. Limit 20 per session. Registration is required. 3:00-4:00 PM or 7:00-8:00 PM

July 20 – Popular Page Turners Book Club – Join us each month to discuss favorite genres and popular titles. This month, we will be discussing Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. Copies of the book can be checked out at the Circulation Desk a month before the meeting date. Registration is required. 7:00-8:00 PM
July 21 – FPPLDGamers – Join our gaming club and play with other enthusiasts. We play Super Smash Bros, Jack Box games, Fortnite, and more. Grades 3-8. 1:30-2:45 PM
July 21 – Crafter’s Corner – Is there a craft that you’ve always wanted to try? Or do you need some extra space for a craft that you’ve been working on? Drop in anytime and stay for however long you need or like. This program is crafting free time for all ages. 5:00-6:30 PM

July 22 – Anime Club – Talk about all things anime and manga with us. Sign-ups can receive a free copy of our club’s current manga. We’ll have anime themed activities and a manga book discussion every meet-up. Grades 6-12. 2:15-3:30 PM
July 23 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring events, and funding programs. New members are always welcome! 10:30-11:00 AM
July 25 – Miniatures Monday – Are you interested in playing miniature games like Dungeons and Dragons? Visit the Library to paint miniatures, or learn how to play different games with others! We’ll provide basic paint and art tools for you. Feel free to bring your own figures to paint. Grades 6-12. 1:30-3:30 PM
July 25 – Perler Bead It! – Create different perler bead designs. We’ll provide different perler bead colors and tools to help you get started. Grades 3-12. 12:30-2:00 PM

July 27 – Great Picnic Cuisine – Chef Susan Maddox is back to explore some old favorite recipes as well as teach you some new ones. Samples of each dish will be provided for you to take home to try. Registration is required. Limit 25. 6:30-8:00 PM
July 28 – Bon Appetit – Sign up to be a Franklin Park Library chef! Have fun making your dish then devour it (you don’t even have to share if you don’t want to). Who knew cooking could be so fun? Grades 3-6. 4:00-5:00 PM

July 30 – Summer Reading Celebration – Celebrate the end of another successful Summer Reading Challenge with a huge party. We’ll have an ice cream truck, bouncy castle, balloon creations, giant bubbles, games, crafts, prize wheel & plinko, lemonade stand, special Friends of the Library book sale, animal adoption event with CatVando, and more! 1:00-3:00 PM
