June 1 – Arts & Snacks – Create a masterpiece at your library. We will have all sorts of art supplies available and a bunch of snacks to keep you going. 1:00-4:00 pm
June 3 – Tai Chi – Tai chi is a type of low-impact, weight-bearing, and aerobic — yet relaxing — exercise. People of almost any age or condition can learn it. Tom Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga in Riverside joins us to lead you through each class. Please note: this is an active class. While you may take occasional breaks, you must be able to stand and walk on your own, unassisted, for the duration of the class. Registration is required. Limit 25. Ages 16 and up. 6:30-7:30 pm
June 4 – Beyblade Burst Battle – You bring in the Beyblades, we provide the arena – be ready for battle! To compete in the tournament, the Beyblades must be of the Burst style. Grades 2 & up. 4:00-5:00 pm
June 5 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting & sewing, and showing completed projects. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
June 5 – Koinobori Flying Carp – Create some Koinobori flying carp decorations for International Children’s Day (June 9th)! Grades 6-12. 7:00-8:00 pm
June 6 – Tastes from Around the Galaxy – Climb aboard our space shuttle as we cross the universe and enjoy a variety of stories, trivia, and food. Grades 1 & up. 4:00-5:00 pm
June 7 – Donut Day Storytime – Join us in appreciating donuts on their special day with some delicious stories you donut want to miss! Grades Pre-K & up. 4:00-5:00 pm
June 8 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Franklin Park Library support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring library events, and funding library programs. New members are always welcome. 9:30-11:00 am
June 8 – Knit & Crochet Group – New members always welcome! Join fellow crafters from every skill level. Learn tips and tricks and share projects you’re creating. 1:00-3:00 pm
June 10 – Chair Yoga – Chair Yoga classes are wonderful movement opportunities for senior citizens and for any adult with limited mobility who wants to increase and maintain flexibility. Susan Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga in Riverside joins us to lead you through each class. Registration is required. Limit 25. Ages 16 and up. 2:00-3:00 pm
June 10 – LEGO Club – If you are an experienced builder or a first timer, this is the place for you! During this drop-in program, we provide the LEGO bricks and monthly challenges while you provide the imagination. All ages. 4:00-6:00 pm
June 13 – Father’s Day Craft – Let Dad know that he is number one with a make and take craft! All ages. 5:00-6:00 pm
June 14 – Friday Flicks – Join us each month to watch a newly released movie! This month’s movie is Green Book (PG-13), starring Viggo Mortensen, Mahershala Ali, and Linda Cardellini. Refreshments will also be available. 2:00-4:10 pm
June 14 – Tabletop Gaming Club – If you enjoy playing various board games then this is the program for you! Grab some friends and visit your library to play from a selection of classic and new tabletop games. This program is for teens and adults. 6:00-8:00 pm
June 15 – Space Escape – Can you escape? Put your skills to the test and challenge our space escape room! Grades 6-12. 2:00-4:00 pm
June 17 – Fun-Ologies – Come explore interesting topics with Fun-Ologies! In June, learn about Spaceology. Grades 3 and up. 4:30-5:30 pm

June 18 – The Space Race – How did the space race between the U.S. and the Soviet Union begin? Join Michelle Nichols from the Adler Planetarium to learn about the race to send men to the Moon in the 1960s. Ages 10 and up. 7:00-8:00 pm

June 24 – Galaxy Silhouettes: An Outer Space Painting Workshop – Beginners are welcome for this modern twist on a classic silhouette portrait. Artist Christine Thornton will teach you how to create your own silhouette and paint a galaxy pattern inside it. Limit 30. Ages 15 & up. Registration is required. 7:00-8:30 pm
June 25 – Night Owls – Join us for a storytime with your little owlets. There will be reading, singing, and playing. It will be a HOOT! Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 4:30-5:30 pm
June 26 – Lil Space Explorers – Blast off into space with us as we have a special storytime and craft for kids. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 4:00-5:00 pm
June 27 – Lunar Cartooners: Aliens from Beyond the Moon – Learn how to draw little green men and three headed martians with instructions from professional cartoonist, Mark Anderson. For Ages 5-12. Tickets are required. Pick up tickets beginning June 1 in Kids Crossing. 5:00-6:00 pm
June 27 – Killer Reads Book Club – Join us on the fourth Thursday evening of each month to delve into the deep, dark world of true crime. This month we will be discussing Ballad of the Whiskey Robber: A True Story of Bank Heists, Ice Hockey, Transylvanian Pelt Smuggling, Moonlighting Detectives, and Broken Hearts by Julian Rubinstein. Refreshments will be provided. Copies of the book can be picked up at the Circulation Desk a month before the meeting date. 7:00-8:00 pm
June 28 – Library Café – Kick back, relax, and enjoy some food and music. Join us for our low-key Library Café. Sign up required. Grades 6-12. 6:00-7:00 pm
