May 1 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting & sewing, and showing completed projects. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
May 1 – Coding Club – Stop by to experiment with coding and computers. Grades 1-6. 4:00-5:00 pm
May 3 – Morning Movers – Introduce your little ones to early literacy skills through reading, rhymes, songs and play. Ages 0-3 with caregiver. 10:00-11:00 am
May 4 – May the 4th Be With You: Arts & Snacks Edition – Kick off the start of our “A Universe of Stories” summer reading season with a May the 4th celebration! There will be Star Wars stories, games, crafts, and snacks. All ages. 1:00-4:00 pm
May 7 – Spring Craft: Planter & Patriotic Windsock – Make a planter to put in your macramé hanger from last month! Then, join us in making a patriotic windsock using ribbon. Adults only. Limit 20. Registration is required. 2:00-3:30 pm

May 9 – Peep Dioramas – Spring has begun and the Peeps are out! Create a scene from a book or movie with Peeps. Creations will be displayed in the library for a few days and shown on our Facebook and Instagram. Grades 6-12. 7:00-8:00 pm

May 10 – Friday Flicks – Join us each month to watch a newly released movie! This month’s movie is Bohemian Rhapsody (PG-13), starring Rami Malek, Lucy Boynton, and Gwilym Lee. Refreshments will also be available. 2:00-4:15 pm
May 10 – Acts of Kindness: Sweet Treats – Do you want to make someone’s day more special? Help us put together sweet candy survival kits for our community helpers. Grades 2 & up. 4:00-5:00 pm
May 10 – Tabletop Gaming Club – If you enjoy playing various board games then this is the program for you! Grab some friends and visit your library to play from a selection of classic and new tabletop games. This program is for teens and adults. 6:00-8:00 pm
May 11 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Franklin Park Library support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring library events, and funding library programs. New members are always welcome. 9:30-11:00 am
May 11 – Knit & Crochet Group – New members always welcome! Join fellow crafters from every skill level. Learn tips and tricks and share projects you’re creating. 1:00-3:00 pm
May 13 – LEGO Club – If you are an experienced builder or a first timer, this is the place for you! During this drop-in program, we provide the LEGO bricks and monthly challenges while you provide the imagination. All ages. 4:00-6:00 pm
May 14 – Sensory Art – Encourage your little ones to explore their senses with art projects chosen with them in mind. Ages 0-2 with caregiver. 4:00-5:00 pm

May 18 – Teen Volunteer Opportunity: Decorate the Library – Summer Reading is here! Join us and earn volunteer hours by helping us decorate the library. Wear clothes that you won’t mind getting dirty. Help get our space program off the ground! Grades 6-12. 1:00-3:00 pm
May 20 – Fun-Ologies – Come explore interesting topics with Fun-Ologies! In May, learn about Monsterology. Grades 3 and up. 4:30-5:30 pm
May 21 – Night Owls – Join us for a storytime with your little owlets. There will be reading, singing, and playing. It will be a HOOT! Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 4:30-5:30 pm
May 22 – Citizens Utility Board (CUB) Utility Bill Clinic – Come to this free clinic held by CUB to get answers to all of your utility-related questions. Bring copies of your gas, electric, and phone bills for free analysis from one of their experts. Space is limited, so please register to reserve your spot. 6:30-8:30 pm
May 23 – Killer Reads Book Club – Join us on the fourth Thursday evening of each month to delve into the deep, dark world of true crime. This month we will be discussing Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI by David Grann Refreshments will be provided. Copies of the book can be picked up at the Circulation Desk a month before the meeting date. 7:00-8:00 pm

CGL is back, play with friends and have a chance to win prizes. Sign ups are limited. Rules and regulations will be posted on our website. Ages 10-15. 1:00-3:30 pm
May 29 – Space Loteria – Explore outer space with a bilingual game of loteria – it’s like BINGO, with a twist! All ages. 1:00-1:30 pm; 3:00-3:30 pm; 5:00-5:30 pm
May 30 – Astronomy for Everyone – Astronomer Kevin Manning wants to share his excitement over space with you! You’ll learn about the size and scale of the universe, the stars, and other celestial wonders using hands-on activities and assorted visuals. For Ages 8 & up. Tickets are required. Pick up tickets beginning May 1 in Kids Crossing. 6:00-8:00 pm
