Rosie is Riveting…

By Nick Nicholas with Wes Hessel

The band Rosie and The Rivets at The Center for the Performing Arts at Governors State University (GSU) delighted everyone in the audience with its full sound, powerful vocals, as well as genuine and authentic delivery of smash hit songs of yesteryear onwards – songs which made history in America and the world. The first ten years of Rock & Roll (1954-1964) created music that represented how people felt, and what they hoped for. Unlike any other time in history, music mirrored reality, and people’s reality was the music. It’s safe to say that if one was to confess love, heartbreak, or attraction all they had to do was play and dedicate a song, which was companion, entertainment, a friend, even a therapist who supplied much needed explanation and guidance in matters of the heart.

Rosie’s voice is powerful and versatile, never losing her identity as the kind of singer that she is and never imitating the original artists. A beautiful looking woman, charismatic performer, engaging and welcoming with a great voice backed by a big band sound of pure music artistry. The Center for the Performing Arts set its actual stage for the band with white clothed round tables, comfortable chairs, and a full-service premium bar serving wines, beer, and spirits with a most welcoming bartender.

A shout out for Rosie and the Rivets, the kind of band you want to hire to entertain at your next most special of events – an anniversary, landmark birthday, even renewing vows. Their music experience is golden all the way; find them at www.rosieandtherivets.com and don’t miss them next time they are in town.
