March 2 – Storypalooza – Start your week off at the Library as we enjoy stories, songs, and rhymes together! Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:00-11:30 AM
March 3 – Sensory Playtime – Join us for sensory playtime! We will have different tactile and sensory experiences for young kids to learn and engage with together. Each week we will have different stations focused on the different senses. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
March 3 – Handmade Lipstick Workshop – In observance of Women’s History Month, Franklin Park Library and Pop Craft Studio are teaming up to give patrons a unique crafting experience. Pop Craft Studio’s handmade lipstick experience is more than just creating a beautiful lip color – it’s a memorable and educational experience that you won’t forget. This handmade lipstick experience will teach you how to create a lipstick that’s uniquely yours! Adults only. Limit 20. Registration is required. 6:00-8:00 PM
March 4 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting and sewing projects and techniques. We embrace all skills and levels. 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
March 4 – Let’s Paint! – For artists of all levels. Grab your paint brushes and join Ms. Mariela for an afternoon of creative, colorful, paint-smeared fun! Grades 2-8. 5:00-6:30 PM

March 6 – Scales-N-Tales Storytime – Start your Friday morning off at the library with a fun storytime all about animals. A new animal will be featured each week. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:00-11:30 AM
March 6 – Game On – Take your gaming to the next level! Join our video game program to play new and classic games, participate in friendly competitions, and win prizes. Registration is strongly encouraged. Grades 6-12. 5:00-6:30 PM
March 7 – Knit & Crochet Group – Relax and work on a project or receive basic instruction from experienced crafters. New members are welcome, and basic supplies and tools are provided. 1:00-3:00 PM

March 13 – Resource Round-Up: Hoopla – You know the library has more than books and programs, but how do you access them? Join us each month to learn about a different library resource and how to use it. In March, we will discuss Hoopla. You do not need to bring your own device, but it may come in handy if you want to follow along. 5:30-6:30 PM
March 14 – Passport Processing Event – Join representatives from the Village of Franklin Park’s Clerk’s Office at the Library for passport service hours. Appointments can be made by contacting the Clerk’s Office at 847-671-8242. Library staff are unable to book appointments for this service. March 16 – True Crime Brew Time Book Club – Do you have a morbid curiosity for true stories of murder, cults, kidnappings, & more? Explore the dark side of nonfiction while enjoying fresh brewed tea and snacks. This month, we’re discussing Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice by Virginia Giuffre. March 18 – Spanish Storytime – Join The Language Labs as they bring Spanish Storytime to your Library! Enjoy stories, games, songs, and crafts in Spanish. March 18 – Celebrate Holi – Celebrate Holi with Franklin Park Library! Ajanta Chakraborty will lead families through Holi dances and stories. Learn all the aspects of the incredibly fun and colorful holiday and how anyone can celebrate. Registration is required. Kids of all ages. 5:00-6:00 PM

March 19 – LEGO Librarians – Come and join the snap together squad as we build LEGO sets to decorate the library. From Star Wars, to Zelda, to dinosaur fossils, we’re excited to build all the crazy big LEGO sets that you’ve always dreamed of building. Registration is required. Ages 11 and up. 4:00-5:00 PM

March 19 – Illinois Libraries Present: Beyond the Page with Percival Everett – Join us for an exciting virtual event with author Percival Everett, Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award winner for his book James: A Novel. Brandis Friedman, writer and anchor for WTTW’s Chicago Tonight and Chicago Tonight: Black Voices, will moderate this event. This is a virtual program that will be offered via Zoom. 7:00-8:00 PM

March 25 – Mrs. Lincoln’s Salon – Actress Debra Miller portrays Mary Todd Lincoln in a one-woman play set in 1865 as the Civil War is ending. Drawing from Mrs. Lincoln’s letters to friends, family, and political figures of the era, Mrs. Lincoln’s Salon paints a picture of Mary Lincoln that is both sympathetic and truthful. 6:00-7:30 PM

March 27 – Teen Taste Test – Do you love snacks? Do you want to try snacks from different countries or snacks you’ve never heard of? Come and taste the snacks from around the world, talk about them, and rank them from liked to didn’t like. Registration is required. Grades 6-12. 4:30-5:30 PM
March 28 – Teen Trivia Afternoon – Test your trivia on your favorite topics. Prizes will be awarded to those that come in first. Grades 6-12. 12:00-2:00 PM

March 30 – Cook the Book Club – If you’ve ever wished that book clubs focused less on the book and more on the food, this is the club for you! Every month, each member will pick a recipe from a previously selected book to prepare and bring into the book club. This month’s book is Milk Street Noodles by Christopher Kimball. The resulting potluck is the perfect opportunity to discuss the cookbook with others and try fun foods! Registration is required. 5:30-7:00 PM
March 31 – Teen Volunteer Day – Do you need volunteer hours for school, church, or a club? We’ll have various projects for you to work on at the Library. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Grades 6-12. 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
