The tenth annual “Arts in the Dark” parade drew a fabulously large crowd on an unseasonably warm day.  State Street in downtown Chicago was the location of this fun celebration. Crowds were treated to a number of interesting community groups promoting performing arts from various neighborhoods. African, Hispanic, and Irish dancers, a Chicago Ghostbusters fan group, even fire eaters and twirlers were among the bevy of entertainers making their way down the route.

Additionally, Macy’s on State was open during and after the parade – the store has already begun beautiful decorating for the holiday season. This magical promenade stepped off at 6:00 pm, making a perfect evening for families to come out and enjoy the festivities. This year’s procession commemorates the decade anniversary of this wonderful artistic impression event. The group behind also had a DIY event called the Upside Down Parade, with the participants being children and families who wanted the chance to step up and march. Fall festivities and Halloween happenings continue in the Chicago area as we ease into holiday mode…
