January 3 – Family Game Night – Looking for a way to keep your whole family entertained? Join us for an evening of board games, card games, and more! All ages. 4:00-6:00 pm

January 6 – Get Crafty! – Show off your crafting skills when you attend this make and take program. Grades 1-6. 4:00-5:00 pm

January 6 – Tai Chi – Tai chi is a type of low-impact, weight-bearing, and aerobic — yet relaxing — exercise. People of almost any age or condition can learn it. Tom Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga in Riverside joins us to lead you through each class. Please note: this is an active class. While you may take occasional breaks, you must be able to stand and walk on your own, unassisted, for the duration of the class. Registration is required. Limit 25. Ages 16 and up. 6:30-7:30 pm

January 7 – Night Owls – Join us for a storytime with your little owlets. There will be reading, singing, and playing. It will be a HOOT! Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 4:30-5:30 pm

January 8 – Get (and Stay) Organized – Erin Kelly of Arranged By Erin Professional Organizing presents her top tips on how to get and stay organized. There will be a Q&A session after the presentation where Erin will answer all your organizing questions. 6:30-8:00 pm

January 9 – Thursday Page Turners Book Club – Join us to discuss popular titles on the second Thursday of each month. Refreshments will be provided. This month, we’re discussing Weekend Warriors by Fern Michaels. Copies of the book can be picked up at the Circulation Desk a month before the meeting date. 2:00-3:00 pm

January 10 – Tabletop Gaming Club – Grab some friends and visit your library to play from a selection of classic and new tabletop games. This program is for teens and adults. 5:00-7:00 pm

January 11 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Franklin Park Library support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring library events, and funding library programs. New members are always welcome. 9:30-11:00 am

January 11 – Knit & Crochet Group – New members always welcome! Join fellow crafters from every skill level. Learn tips and tricks and share projects you’re creating. 1:00-3:00 pm

January 13 – Chair Yoga – Chair Yoga classes are wonderful movement opportunities for senior citizens and for any adult with limited mobility who wants to increase and maintain flexibility. Susan Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga in Riverside joins us to lead you through each class. Registration is required. Limit 25. Ages 16 and up. 2:00-3:00 pm

January 13 – LEGO Club – Bring a friend to this drop-in program and complete the monthly LEGO challenges together. For kids of all ages. 4:00-5:00 pm

January 15 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting & sewing, and showing completed projects. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

January 15 – Kids Advisory Board – It’s time to make your voice heard! Share your ideas with us so we can work together to make your library even better. Grades 1-6. 4:00-4:30 pm

January 15 – Parents Advisory Board – Calling all parents and caregivers! We would love to hear from you regarding your ideas and the kinds of programs you would like to see in Kids Crossing. 4:30-5:00 pm

January 16 – Cooking with the Kiddos – Introduce your child to the joys of food with a hands on cooking program for the younger crowd. Grades PreK-1st with caregiver. 4:30-5:30 pm

January 17 – Friday Flicks – Join us each month to watch a newly released movie! This month’s movie is Downton Abbey (PG-13), starring Matthew Goode, Michelle Dockery, and Maggie Smith. Refreshments will also be available. 2:00-4:00 pm

January 20 – Fun-ologies: Astrology – Explore a variety of interesting topics with Fun-Ologies. Grades 3 & up. 4:30-5:30 pm

January 21 – Sensory Art – Encourage your little ones to explore their senses with art projects chosen for smaller hands. Ages 0-2 with caregiver. 4:00-5:00 pm

January 21 – Intro to Crochet – Join us each month for an introduction to a different needlecraft. You’ll learn the basics and get started on an easy project. Supplies will be provided. Limit 15. Registration is required. 6:30-8:00 pm

January 22 – Perlermania! – Create fused bead designs of all kinds! Grades 3 & up. 4:00-5:00 pm

January 24 – Morning Movers – Introduce your little ones to early literacy skills through reading, rhymes, songs, and play. Ages 0-3 with caregiver. 10:00-11:00 am

January 24 – Spicy Sauce Challenge – See how far you can go up the spicy sauce gauntlet! In this program we’ll be challenging you to try out different levels of hot sauce while completing fun activities. Join us to sample sauce like a boss! Grades 6-12. 4:00-5:00 pm

January 27 – Dog Man Party – Part dog, part man, and ALL HERO! Join us as we celebrate the wildly popular series Dog Man by Dav Pilkey. Grades 1-6.  4:00-5:00 pm

January 30 – Kiddie Fun – Come visit the library with your little one! We will mix it up every month and have music, storytimes, crafts and playtime! Ages 3-5 with caregiver. 11:00 am – 12:00 pm  – OR – 2:00-3:00 pm

January 30 – Murder, Mayhem, and the Mob: Chicago’s Beer War – 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the start of Prohibition in the United States. Come and learn about the local connections: the lead-up to Prohibition, the rise of Al Capone, the “Beer War,” and the eventual end of Prohibition with Chicago history presenter Clarence Goodman. 7:00-8:30 pm
