Team Deakins Speaks on Latest Endeavors

“Team Deakins”, the power film cinematography couple comprised of Sir Roger Deakins and his wife James Ellis, are taking on new ventures of a podcast dedicated to cinematography, and a book of still photographs with original prints by Sir Roger. The pair spoke in a more than 30 minute Q&A session at the Athenaeum Theatre to a sold out space of 900 plus. They shared their creative knowledge and experiences in film work with many heavy weight Hollywood champs with generosity and humor, prior to a screening of the film “No Country for Old Men”.

Watching some of the film’s dedicated fans and audience arrive, one has to marvel at the demographics of who likes what and to what extent. The film’s audience grows daily as more people see it, and getting a chance to listen to one of its main artistic creators. knighted Sir Roger Deakins, a 16-time Academy Award nominee with two wins, was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to virtually walk and be on set in one of strongest films ever made in our time. The motion picture itself garnered eight Oscar noms, with four wins: Best Picture, Best Directing, Adapted Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor. This serves to point up what can happen when well-established creatives like Team Deakins and the Brothers Coen work together.
