Unless otherwise noted, registration is required for ALL library programs.

November 1 – Morning Movers – Introduce your little ones to early literacy skills through reading, rhymes, songs, and play. Ages 0-3 with caregiver. 10:00-11:00 am

November 2 – Arts & Snacks – Create a masterpiece at your library. We will have all sorts of art supplies available and snacks to keep you going. This program is for teens and adults. 1:00-4:00 pm

November 4 – Tai Chi – Tai chi is a type of low-impact, weight-bearing, and aerobic — yet relaxing — exercise. People of almost any age or condition can learn it. Tom Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga in Riverside joins us to lead you through each class. Please note: this is an active class. While you may take occasional breaks, you must be able to stand and walk on your own, unassisted, for the duration of the class. Registration is required. Limit 25. Ages 16 and up. 6:30-7:30 pm

November 5 – Fall Craft: Pine Cone Swag – Decorate your home for fall with a pine cone swag. Adults only. Limit 25. Registration is required. 2:00-3:30 pm

November 5 – Sensory Art – Encourage your little ones to explore their senses with art projects chosen for smaller hands. Ages 0-2 with caregiver. 4:00-5:00 pm

November 5 – Minute to Win It Family Challenge – Celebrate International Games Week by joining in on some quirky fun with your family. Grades 1 & up. 6:00-7:00 pm

November 6 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting & sewing, and showing completed projects. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

November 6 – Get Crafty! – Show off your crafting skills when you attend this make and take program. Grades 1-6. 4:00-5:00 pm

November 8 – Friday Flicks – Join us each month to watch a newly released movie! This month’s movie is Rocketman (Rated R), starring Taron Egerton, Jamie Bell, Richard Madden, and Bryce Dallas Howard. Refreshments will also be available. 2:00-4:00 pm

November 9 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Franklin Park Library support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring library events, and funding library programs. New members are always welcome. 9:30-11:00 am

November 9 – Knit & Crochet Group – New members always welcome! Join fellow crafters from every skill level. Learn tips and tricks and share projects you’re creating. 1:00-3:00 pm

November 11 – Chair Yoga – Chair Yoga classes are wonderful movement opportunities for senior citizens and for any adult with limited mobility who wants to increase and maintain flexibility. Susan Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga in Riverside joins us to lead you through each class. Registration is required. Limit 25. Ages 16 and up. 2:00-3:00 pm

November 11 – LEGO Club – Bring a friend to this drop-in program and complete the monthly LEGO challenges together. For kids of all ages. 4:00-5:00 pm

November 11 – Organize Your Genealogy: Using Old and New Technology – Genealogy lecturer and author Stephen Szabados returns to help provide some insight into the best tools and methods to help you become more effective and efficient in your family research efforts. He will review traditional methods and introduce new techniques, tools, and technologies. 6:30-7:30 pm

November 12 – Fact or Fiction? – Can you spot false information? Come by and test your truth radar! Grades 3 & up. 4:00-5:00 pm

November 12 – Friends Chipotle Fundraiser – Join the Friends of the Library at Chipotle in Franklin Park (2926 Mannheim Road) on Tuesday, November 12 from 4-8 pm. Simply mention to the cashier that you’re there for the Friends fundraiser and the Friends will receive 33% of the proceeds for the evening. 4:00-8:00 pm

November 13 – Now You’re Cooking! – Have fun making yummy recipes and then sampling your culinary creations. Due to the popularity of this program, no walk-ins will be accepted. Grades 2 & up. 4:00-5:30 pm

November 13 – Musical Munchkins – Explore the joys of music with your child. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 4:30-5:30 pm

November 15 – Morning Movers – Introduce your little ones to early literacy skills through reading, rhymes, songs, and play. Ages 0-3 with caregiver. 10:00-11:00 am

November 15 – A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood: A Celebration of Mr. Rogers – Let’s celebrate Mr. Rogers with a program focused on kindness and friendship! For kids of all ages. 4:00-5:00 pm

November 15 – Teen Movie Night – Join us each month for a movie night just for you, featuring popular films made from books. Tonight, we’re showing Love, Simon (PG-13). Refreshments will also be available. Grades 6-12. 6:00-8:00 pm

November 18 – Fun-ologies: Pirateology – Explore a variety of interesting topics with Fun-Ologies. Grades 3 & up. 4:30-5:30 pm

November 19 – Night Owls – Join us for storytime with your little owlets. There will be reading, singing, and playing. It will be a HOOT! Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 4:30-5:30 pm

November 19 – Disassembly Required – Help us take apart old toys and technology. Feel free to bring old toys or stuffed animals you no longer use. Grades 1-6. 4:30-5:30 pm

November 20 – Bluestem Book Buddies – Read and discuss nominated books from the Bluestem Award List (an Illinois’ Readers’ Choice Award). This month, we’re discussing Wishtree by Katherine Applegate. Copies of the book can be picked up at the Circulation Desk a month prior to the meeting date. Grades 3-5. 4:00-5:00 pm

November 21 – Killer Reads Book Club – Join us each month to delve into the deep, dark world of true crime. This month we will be discussing All-American Murder: The Rise and Fall of Aaron Hernandez, the Superstar Whose Life Ended on Murderers’ Row by James Patterson & Alex Abramovich. Refreshments will be provided. Copies of the book can be picked up at the Circulation Desk a month before the meeting date. 7:00-8:00 pm
