May 1 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting and sewing projects and techniques. We embrace all skills and levels. 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

May 1 – Baby Storytime – Bond with your baby as we read stories, do activities, finger plays, and sing songs. Ages 0-18 months with a caregiver. 11:00-11:30 AM

May 1 – Tech Wednesday: Intro to Office – We will go over the basics of word processing, keynote/presentations and spreadsheets. 5:00–6:30 PM

May 2 – BinGLOW – BinGLOW is regular Bingo but with a fun twist! You’ll get to play Bingo with only black lights to see. Come win prizes and be sure to wear neon or white to add to the fun! Please note: if you have any sensitivity to light this may not be the program for you. All Ages. 5:00-6:00 PM

May 3 – Scales-N-Tales Storytime – Start your Friday morning off at the library with a fun storytime all about animals. A new animal will be featured each week. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:00-11:30 AM

May 3 – Game ON+ – Welcome all gamers! Join our video game club to play new and classic games. Meet fellow game enthusiasts and participate in friendly competitions. Grades 6-12. 4:30-6:00 PM

May 4 – Knit & Crochet Group – Relax and work on a project or receive basic instruction from experienced crafters. New members are welcome, and basic supplies and tools are provided. 1:00-3:00 PM

May 6 – Mini Explorers Storytime – What are books if not mini adventures? During Mini Explorers, we’ll read stories & and sing songs. Where will we go this week? A trip around the world? Deep sea diving? Hop on a rocket ship to the moon? Join us each week to find out! Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:00-11:30 AM

May 6 – Chair Yoga – Chair Yoga classes are wonderful movement opportunities for any adult with limited mobility who wants to increase and maintain flexibility. Participate virtually with Susan Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga in Riverside through Zoom or by phone. Registration is required. We will email you the Zoom & phone information the day before the program date. 3:00-4:00 PM

May 6 – Perler Bead-It! – Create different Perler bead designs. We’ll provide different Perler bead colors and tools to help you get started. Grades 3-12. 4:00-6:00 PM

May 7 – Tinker Tots – Get your wiggles out with a toddler playtime! Different toys and games each week. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

May 7 – Let’s Paint! – Grab your paint brushes and join Ms. Mariela for an evening of creative, colorful, paint-smeared fun! For artists of all levels. Grades K-8. 5:00-6:30 PM

May 7 – Illinois Libraries Present: The Many Lives of Kal Penn – Join us for a special virtual event with actor, writer, producer and former Associate Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement Kal Penn. This is a virtual program that will be offered via Zoom. 7:00-8:00 PM

May 8 – Paper Flower Crown Craft – Come and make homemade flower crowns, made from paper! Put together the flower cutouts and then attach them to wire and ribbon to make beautiful crowns, perfect to wear for Mother’s Day, spring get-togethers, or the Renaissance Faire. Note: Hot glue guns will be used in this craft. Adults only. Registration required. Limit 20. 5:00-6:00 PM

May 8 – Tech Wednesday: Intro to Google Docs – We will go over the basics of word processing, keynote/presentations and spreadsheets. Bringing your own device is highly recommended. 5:00-6:30 PM

May 9 – Ready, Set, Game! – Join us for an open gaming club with snacks! Come play retro and new video games, sometimes even board or card games. Grades 2-5. 5:00-6:30 PM

May 10 – Game ON+ – Welcome all gamers! Join our video game club to play new and classic games. Meet fellow game enthusiasts and participate in friendly competitions. Grades 6-12. 4:30-6:00 PM

May 11 – Paint-N-Sip – Let your inner artist loose to create a masterpiece! A delicious, non-alcoholic beverage will also be served. Teens & adults only. Limit 20. Registration is required. 1:00-3:00 PM

May 13 – Mat Yoga – This is the class for you if you’ve never done yoga, if you want to get back to yoga, or if you want to explore familiar postures in a different way. Participate virtually through Zoom with Susan Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga in Riverside. Registration is required. We will email you the Zoom information the day before the program date. 3:00-4:00 PM

May 14 – Rockin’ Tots – Dance, sing, and get rowdy in our new music and movement toddler program! Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:00-11:30 AM

May 15 – Teens Dungeons & Dragons – Join in on playing a Dungeons & Dragons campaign at your library.  We’ll be playing through a continued story each meetup. Beginners are welcome. Feel free to bring your own models and dice. Grades 6-12. 4:30-6:00 PM

May 15 – Tech Wednesday: Intro to iPhone and iPad – We will go over the basics of navigation, file management, downloading/uninstalling apps, customization of your home and lock screens, tips and more. 5:00-6:30 PM

May 15 – Popular Page Turners Book Club – Join us monthly for an evening of engaging conversation about popular books. This month, we are discussing Come Fly The World: The Jet-Age Story of the Women of Pan Am by Julia Cooke. Copies of the book can be checked out at the Circulation Desk a month before the meeting date. Registration is required. 7:00-8:00 PM

May 16 – Teen Cuisine – Cook your own delicious meals and treats with us! Learn basic cooking skills and a delicious new recipe every meetup. All cooking skills are welcome. Grades 6-12. 4:30-6:00 PM

May 28 – Rockin’ Tots – Dance, sing, and get rowdy in our new music and movement toddler program! Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:00-11:30 AM

May 28 – Bon Appetit – Try your hand at cooking! Come to the library and see the tastes we have in store for your future chefs. Grades 3-6. 5:00-6:00 PM

May 29 – Baby Storytime – Bond with your baby as we read stories, do activities, finger plays, and sing songs. Ages 0-18 months with a caregiver. 11:00-11:30 AM

May 29 – Anime Club – Calling all anime fans! Enjoy all things anime and manga with us. Participate in fun anime themed activities, games, and crafts. Meet with other anime enthusiasts and join our manga/anime discussions. Grades 6-12. 4:30-5:30 PM

May 29 – Tech Wednesday: Intro to Windows – We will go over the basics of file management, downloading/updating/uninstalling applications and programs, maintenance, useful tweaks and more. Bringing your own device is highly recommended. 5:00-6:30 PM

May 30 – Crafter’s Corner – Is there a craft that you’ve always wanted to try? Or do you need some extra space for a craft that you’ve been working on? This program is crafting free time for all ages. 5:00-6:00 PM
