We are located at 10311 Grand Avenue in Franklin Park, IL and offer a range of services and programs for children, teens and adults. Further information is available at www.fppld.org or by calling 847-455-6016. Unless otherwise noted, registration is required for ALL library programs.

Grab-N-Go & Take-Home Kits

Take some time away from your screens and complete a fun activity or craft! We will have Grab-N-Go Kits for kids of all ages every two weeks. We will also Take-Home Kits available for teens and adults each month. More information about kits can be found on our website at fppld.org. NOTE: Our kits are available on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last. Registration is not required. To ensure you get your kit, make sure to pick it up as early as possible in the week(s) that it is available.

March 1 – PJ Storytime – Get cozy, pop on your pajamas and come down to the Franklin Park Library for an evening storytime. PJ’s, blankets, and teddy bears are encouraged but not required. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. Limit 20. 6:30-7:00 PM

March 2 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting & sewing, and showing completed projects. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills.10:00 AM – 1 2:00 PM

March 4 – Sunrise Storytime – Join us for stories, songs, and friends every Friday morning in the library. Ages 0-3 with caregiver. 10:15-10:45 AM

March 4 – Li’l Dinosaurs Storytime – Join us for stories, songs, playtime and new friends. Ages 3-5 with caregiver. 11:00-11:30 AM

March 4 – Mini-Game Mayhem – Challenge yourself and participate in playing simple mini games with others. We’ll have different easy mini games to play with a small tournament. Grades 6-12. 5:00-6:00 PM

March 5 – Saturday Game Time – Stop by the library to play board games with friends. Kids of all ages. 1:00-3:00 PM

March 7 – Chair Yoga – Chair Yoga classes are wonderful movement opportunities for any adult with limited mobility who wants to increase and maintain flexibility. Participate virtually with Susan Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga in Riverside through Zoom or by phone. Registration is required. We will email you the Zoom & phone information the day before the program date. 3:00-4:00 PM

March 7 – Bon Appétit! – Travel around the world without leaving the library. Make both new and familiar recipes, guaranteed to take you on an unforgettable culinary adventure. Registration is required. Grades 3-6. 5:00-6:30 PM

March 7 – Monday Fundays – Drop-in to Kids Crossing every Monday evening for a rotation of board games, chess, Lego building, and movie nights. Check the program calendar on the website at fppld.org/kids/programs for the schedule, movie listings, and age restrictions. 5:00-6:30 PM

March 8 – Tai Chi – Tai chi is a type of low-impact, weight-bearing, and aerobic – yet relaxing – exercise. People of almost any age or condition can learn it. Participate virtually through Zoom with Tom Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga in Riverside. Registration is required. We will email you a Zoom invitation the day before the program date. 6:00-7:00 PM

March 9 – Make Mine a Mocktail! – Enjoy some delicious adult beverages without the drawbacks of alcohol! We will demonstrate how to make 3 tasty mocktails, then send you home with samples and recipes. For adults. Limit 20. Registration is required. 6:30-7:30 PM

March 11 – Anime Club – Calling all anime fans! Discuss anime and manga with us. We’ll watch anime episodes and have activities to do at each meet-up. Grades 6-12. 5:00-6:00 PM

March 12 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring events, and funding programs. New members are always welcome. 10:30-11:30 AM

March 12 – Knit & Crochet Group – New members are always welcome! Join fellow crafters from every skill level. Learn tips and tricks and share projects you’re creating. 1:00-3:00 PM

March 12 – Saturday Game Time – Stop by the library to play board games with friends. Kids of all ages. 1:00-3:00 PM

March 16 – Local Author Visit: Pascuala Herrera – Come hear motivational speaker and award-winning local author Pascuala Herrera’s inspirational presentation about disability, Latinx issues, overcoming insurmountable odds, and finding life’s purpose. Herrera is the 2021 winner of De la Página a la Fama, a contest from the Soon To Be Famous Illinois Author Project. Her book, Life is Not Always a Valley of Tears: A Memoir of a Life Well Lived, was released in 2021. Book sales and a book signing will follow the program. 5:00-6:45 PM

March 16 – Popular Page Turners Book Club – Join us each month to discuss popular titles. This month’s book is Not Always a Valley of Tears: A Memoir of a Life Well Lived by Pascuala Herrera. Our meeting will include a visit and book signing from the award-winning motivational speaker and author. Copies of the book can be checked out at the Circulation Desk a month before the meeting date. This will be a hybrid program: in person and on Zoom. Registration is required. 7:00-8:00 PM

March 17 – Mighty Monarchs Book Club – Calling all early elementary students! Join us for fun activities and discussions as we look at the Monarch Book Award nominees. The Monarch is an Illinois book award where the winner is chosen by kids just like YOU. Grades K-2. 5:00-6:00 PM

March 23 – Maker Mania – Join us for a night of painting or drawing or sculpting, oh my! Come to the library and uncover the artist within you. Family program. Registration is required. 5:00-6:30 PM
