April 1 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting & sewing, and showing completed projects. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
April 2 – Strength & Stability Class – Did you know that people who exercise live longer and are less likely to have medical conditions? During this workout class, a physical therapist will introduce you to resistance-based exercise through the use of resistance bands and light weights. This class is appropriate for novices and those with experience. Activities will be modified according to your abilities. Registration is required. Limit 25. Ages 18 & up. 6:30-7:30 pm
April 3 – Spring Break Movie – Kick back and enjoy some pizza while you watch Toy Story 4. All ages. 4:30-6:30 pm
April 6 – Get Crafty! – Be ready to get your craft on! Show off your crafting skills when you attend this make and take program. Grades 1-6. 4:00-5:00 pm
April 6 – Tai Chi – Tai chi is a type of low-impact, weight-bearing, and aerobic — yet relaxing — exercise. People of almost any age or condition can learn it. Tom Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga in Riverside joins us to lead you through each class. Please note: this is an active class. While you may take occasional breaks, you must be able to stand and walk on your own, unassisted, for the duration of the class. Registration is required. Limit 25. Ages 16 and up. 6:30-7:30 pm
April 7 – Doodlemania – Create miniature origami, design bookmarks and doodle fans. Drawing and doodling are encouraged! Grades 1-6. 4:00-5:00 pm
April 8 – Kids Advisory Board – It’s time to make your voice heard! Share your ideas with us so we can work together to make your library even better. Registration is required. Grades 1-6. 4:00-4:30 pm
April 8 – Parents Advisory Board – Calling all parents and caregivers! We would love to hear from you regarding your ideas and the kinds of programs you would like to see in Kids Crossing. 4:30-5:00 pm
April 9 – Thursday Page Turners Book Club – Join us to discuss popular titles each month. This month, we’re discussing The Frangipani Tree Mystery by Ovidia Yu. Copies of the book can be picked up at the Circulation Desk a month before the meeting date. 2:00-3:00 pm
April 9 – Animal Crossing Meet-Up – Meet other fans to talk, share, help, and hangout as we play the newest installment, Animal Crossing: New Horizon. Bring in your Nintendo Switch + game to make new friends and neighbors. Grades 4 & up. 5:30-7:00 pm
April 9 – Estate Planning Tips & Pitfalls – Barrett Pedersen, Attorney at Law, discusses the different elements of estate planning: living wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. This program is presented as a part of Money Smart Week©. 7:00-8:00 pm
April 10 – Top 5 Scams – Learn about how to protect yourself from consumer scams, free services to help resolve consumer complaints, and tips on protecting yourself from identity theft. Presented by the Office of the Attorney General of Illinois as part of Money Smart Week©. 2:00-3:00 pm
April 11 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Franklin Park Library support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring library events, and funding library programs. We are always on the lookout for new members! 9:30-11:00 am
April 11 – Knit & Crochet Group – New members are always welcome! Join fellow crafters from every skill level. Learn tips and tricks and share projects you’re creating. 1:00-3:00 pm
April 13 – Chair Yoga – Chair Yoga classes are wonderful movement opportunities for senior citizens and for any adult with limited mobility who wants to increase and maintain flexibility. Susan Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga in Riverside joins us to lead you through each class. Registration is required. Limit 25. Ages 16 and up. 2:00-3:00 pm
April 13 – LEGO Club – Bring a friend to this drop-in program and complete the monthly LEGO challenges together! All ages. 4:00-5:00 pm

April 23 – Killer Reads Book Club – Join us each month to delve into the deep, dark world of true crime. This month we will be discussing The Library Book by Susan Orlean. April 29 – Cooking with the Kiddos – Introduce your child to the joys of food with a hands on cooking program for the younger crowd. Grades PreK-1 with caregiver. 4:00-5:00 pm
April 30 – Anime Club – Love all things manga or anime? Stop on by with other fans to discuss and share. We’ll have fun anime themed activities and anime showings every club meeting. Snacks and drinks included! Grades 6 -12. 5:30-7:00 pm
