On the Hunt for “The Movement You Need”

The talented Brendan Hunt (Ted Lasso’s co-creator/writer/“Coach Beard”) wrote and performs a witty one-man autobiographical show “The Movement You Need” at the Steppenwolf Theatre. He goes down memory lane: his connection to Chicago as a Southsider (Oak Lawn) and Northsider (Rogers Park), an ode to his lifelong love for the Beatles – his mother’s favorite band. His parents had divorced – he details the ups and downs of a single mom working as a bartender and Grandma helping. Shows videos he made as a teenager, and talks about having lived in Amsterdam for 5 years and also worked in England. He even details the time he met Paul McCartney…

Mr. Hunt’s funny, fast-paced style connects with the audience, improvising; he is a master storyteller and performer. You are immersed, hanging on his every word, every turn in his creative humorous way. “The Movement You Need” is highly recommended, but it only runs until May 10th, so please visit www.steppenwolf.org for tickets or more information.
