March 3 – Storypalooza – Start your week off at the Library as we enjoy stories, songs, and rhymes together! Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:00-11:30 AM

March 3 – Chair Yoga – Chair Yoga classes are wonderful movement opportunities for any adult with limited mobility who wants to increase and maintain flexibility. Participate virtually with Susan Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga in Riverside through Zoom or by phone. Registration is required. We will email you the Zoom & phone information the day before the program date. 3:00-4:00 PM

March 3 – Drop-in Tech Help – Come in to get your technology questions answered. Anything from smartphones to laptops, writing emails to installing apps. We’ve got you covered! Teens & Adults. 4:00-6:00 PM

March 3 – St. Patrick’s Day Rainbow Wreath – Decorate your door this St. Patrick’s Day with this rainbow wreath that could have a pot of gold at the end of it…or clouds. Up to you! Limit 20. 5:00-6:00 PM

March 3 – Interview Tips & Prep Presentation – Join our presenter, Zuri, as she offers a presentation on interview tips and prep. 7:00-8:00 PM

March 4 – Rockin’ Tots – Dance, sing, and get rowdy during our music and movement toddler program! Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:00-11:30 AM

March 4 – Sensory Playtime – After getting rowdy at Rockin’ Tots, stick around for an open sensory playtime! We will have different tactile and sensory experiences for young kids to learn and engage with together. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM

March 4 – Sci-Fi & Fantasy Book Club – Join us as we read and discuss a different science fiction or fantasy novel each month. This month, we are reading To Shape a Dragon’s Breath by Moniquill Blackgoose. 6:00-7:00 PM

March 4 – Illinois Libraries Present: Exploring Space with Coralie Adam – Join us for an evening with Aerospace Engineer Coralie Adam as she talks about space exploration. This is a virtual program that will be offered via Zoom. 7:00-8:00 PM

March 5 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting and sewing projects and techniques. We embrace all skills and levels. 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

March 5 – Bon Appetit – Try your hand at cooking! Come to the library and see the tastes we have in store for your future chefs. Grades 3-6. 5:00-6:00 PM

March 6 – The Fool-Proof Four & More: A Peek Into the World of Common Edible Wild Mushrooms – The fool-proof, or infallible, four refer to four of the over 50 wild mushrooms that are easy to identify, abundant, and what we call “choice” edibles, meaning delicious. Join “Wild Mushroom Expert” Hunter Le Duc to learn to recognize these four mushrooms and a handful more that can be found easily, locally and turned into succulent and nutritious meals. 6:00-7:00 PM

March 7 – Scales-N-Tales Storytime – Start your Friday morning off at the library with a fun storytime all about animals. A new animal will be featured each week. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:00-11:30 AM

March 8 – Skills Toolkit: 1-on-1 Sessions – Want to build your resume, learn about interview tips, get help on your job search, get essay support, homework help, and more? Book a one-on-one session with Zuri to get the help you need on your career journey. 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

March 8 – Knit & Crochet Group – Relax and work on a project or receive basic instruction from experienced crafters. New members are welcome, and basic supplies and tools are provided. 1:00-3:00 PM

March 10 – Mat Yoga – This is the class for you if you’ve never done yoga, if you want to get back to yoga, or if you want to explore familiar postures in a different way. March 10 – Mario Day Party! – Do you love all things Mario? Come to our Mario Day Party! You’ll have a chance to play Mario Kart, stomp some Goomba’s, create crafts, and more! Ages 4-14. 4:30-6:30 PM

March 11 – Tinker Tots – Get your wiggles out with a toddler playtime! Different toys and games each week. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

March 11 – The Science of Sound – Join us as we learn about how sound travels through the air and the different ways that we can manipulate sound (pitch, volume, vibration, etc.). We will investigate these concepts by exploring different instruments and conducting an experiment using sound! Grades K-6. Registration required. 5:00-6:00 PM

March 11 – Goodnight Storytime – Join us each month for a cozy Goodnight Storytime. Come dressed in your comfy clothes and bring your favorite stuffie! Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 6:00-6:30 PM

March 12 – Teen Cuisine – Cook your own delicious meals and treats with us! Learn basic cooking skills and a delicious new recipe every meetup. All cooking skills are welcome. Grades 6-12. 4:30-6:00 PM

March 13 – Tech Thursday: Android Basics – Learn how to take full advantage of your Android phone or tablet, with tips and tricks that will turn you into an expert! 3:00-5:30 PM

March 13 – Ready, Set, Game – Join us for an open gaming club with snacks! Come play retro and new video games, sometimes even board or card games. Grades 2-5. 5:00-6:30 PM

March 13 – The Write Stuff – This writers’ workshop is a place where you can bring works in progress, push through writer’s block, or get started on something entirely new. Open to beginner and experienced writers alike, all are welcome to join. 5:30-6:30 PM

March 18 – Flirty Fiction Romance Book Club – Are you a defender of the HEA (“happily ever after”)? Join us to read a different romance book each month, talk about our favorite tropes, and find some new ones! 5:30-7:30 PM

March 19 – Let’s Paint! – Grab your paint brushes and join Ms. Mariela for an evening of creative, colorful, paint-smeared fun! For artists of all levels. Grades K-8. 5:00-6:30 PM

March 19 – Popular Page Turners Book Club – Join us monthly for an evening of engaging conversation about popular books. This month, we are discussing The Doctors Blackwell: How Two Pioneering Sisters Brought Medicine to Women and Women to Medicine by Janice P. Nimura. Copies of the book can be checked out at the Circulation Desk a month before the meeting date. Registration is required. 7:00-8:00 PM

March 20 – Teen Crafternoon – Join us for a new crafting program just for teens! Join us in March for glass painting. Grades 6-12. 5:00-6:30 PM

March 21 – Graphic Novel Book Club – Do you like reading comics, graphic novels, and manga? Join our Graphic Novel Book Club as we read different books, play games, and do activities based on them. Then, help us vote on which book we read next time. Grades 3-8. 4:30-5:30 PM

March 22 – Village of Franklin Park Passport Appointments – Join representatives from the Village of Franklin Park’s Clerk’s Office at the Library for passport service hours. Appointments will be available from 11 AM to 3 PM and can be made by contacting the Clerk’s Office at 847-671-8242. Visit https://www.fppld.org/VoFPPassport for more information. 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

March 22 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Library support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring events, and funding programs. New members are always welcome! 10:30-11:30 AM

Every month, each member will pick a recipe from a previously selected book to prepare and bring in to the book club. The resulting potluck is the perfect opportunity to discuss the cookbook with others and try fun foods. 4:30-6:00 PM
