Summer Concert Series at North Park
The Summer Concert Series at North Park began with the FeelGood Party Band. The band played many #1 hits from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. A very large crowd turned out for a return to live music after the Covid 19 lock down of the past year.
Memorial Day Parade
Memorial Day in Franklin Park is a solemn occasion. That is the day that we remember and honor all that served our country in time of war and all those that died fighting for our freedoms. Here is a video that I shot and edited from May 31, 2021.
Memorial Day Ceremony in Franklin Park
On May 31, Memorial Day, Franklin Park in conjunction with American Legion Post 974 held the annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the Veteran’s Memorial. It was a very distinguished ceremony with many in attendance.
A New Business in Franklin Park!
A new ice cream parlor opened up in Franklin Park on Franklin Ave right across the street from the U.S. Post Office. The name of the business is Luna’s Ice Cream. I was there on May 17 when they first opened. Here is a short video I created.
Cat adoption event at Pet Paradise Supermarket Inc.
Pet Paradise Supermarket in conjunction with CatVando held a cat and kitten adoption event on May 22, 2021. Many kittens were up for adoption that day and a few were adopted. It was a long cold, snowy winter so I decided to take a few photos of spring related scenery. A few photos made the May edition of People and Places Newspaper’s print edition. The ones that didn’t I turned into a 3 minute video. Enjoy the sites of spring.

First Annual Triton College Car Show
It was a beautiful day for the First Annual Triton Car Show which was held on Sunday, April 18 from 10:00 am until 2:00. There were over 400 cars on display and the event brought out many spectators. Fun was had by all! There were refreshments and a deejay to provide music.
Shred Day at Leyden Credit Union
On April 17, 2021 Leyden Credit Union held a Shred Day in their parking lot on 25th Street. Students from Leyden High School were on hand to help with this community event. This is a great event to safely get rid of old mail and documents that you don’t need anymore.
