There’s No Place Like “Rome”

Chicago Shakespeare favorites the Q Brothers Collective bring their upbeat vibe and style of genius to the stage. We loved their Othello, and absolutely couldn’t get enough of a Q Christmas Carol. Now they give us “Rome Sweet Rome”, which is hip, highly entertaining, and colorful. This thought-provoking play is fun theater at its finest.

A pre-show DJ gets the crowd ready for this energetic telling of Julius Caesar. Modern costumes and delightful staging set the tone, with an amazing diverse cast of Chicago favorites. There are many sassy and funny fourth wall breaks throughout the show, with an atonal shift at the end. Lyrics and music from recognizable pop and hip-hop songs make for a fine musical experience, as well. Once again, Chicago Shakes does not disappoint with this innovative, high-energy production – there is something for every theatergoer to enjoy.
